Molly Jo Rivelli (Bessey)~Piano and Voice

M.M., Vocal Performance, Arizona State University.  B.A., Magna cum Laude, Whitworth College, Music Education, emphasis in Choral Conducting and Piano.  Certified public school music teacher K-12.  Founder and Owner of MJ's Music School.  Voice, Piano and General Music teacher and private instructor for over 20 years.  Former instructor at Eliot Montessori, Centre Music, and Northwood Junior and Senior High (Washington State). Active soloist for Boston Lyric Opera, Raylynmor Opera, Granite State Opera, Wellesley Choral Society, Scituate Choral Society, Waltham Symphony, Oregon Coast Music Festival, and Opera ProvidencePrivate vocal studies with Arthur Levy, Andrea DelGiudice, Carol Vaness and Maria Spacagna.  Specialized studies in Kodaly and Orff methods of music education.  Particularly interested in working with students with disabilities and children on the autism spectrum.  Active church vocalist, Youth Choir Director at Payson Park Church in Boemont,  pianist, and choral conductor.  Member of AGMA and National Association of Teachers of Singing.

Chris Rivelli~Drums

Graduate Berklee College of Music. Post-Graduate studies in music education at Bridgewater State College.  Former student of Alan Dawson. Percussion and Ensemble Instructor for Berklee College of Music's City Music Program, Faculty Outreach and Preperatory Academy.  Former Drum Instructor at DiCenso's Drum Shop,  Abington Public Schools, and Matt's Music Centers.  Former Director of the Plus Music School in Boston.  As a performer Chris toured internationally and recorded with many top blues aritsits including Roomful of Blues, Duke Robillard, Janiva Magness, John Nemeth, Nick Moss and the Fliptops, Junior Watson, Lynwood Slim, Matthew Stubbs, and Sax Gordon.  Endorser for Vater Drum Sticks.

Chris Fitz~Guitar and Bass

 Renato Malavasi ~ Drums


Originally from Brazil, Renato has been performing and studying drum set for over 20 years. His performances range widely from instrumental Jazz Trios, Quartets, Quintets, and Big Bands to accompanying Jazz Singers. Other performances and experiences include projects with Brazilian, Afro Cuban, Blues, Pop, and Gospel groups as well. In addition to his regular appearances at Ryles Jazz Club, The Beehive, Acton Jazz Cafe, The Skywalk at the Prudential Building in Boston, and The Odyssey Cruise, Renato has also performed extensively at jazz parties, restaurants, weddings, hotels, private functions, and universities.

Recipient of Berklee College of Music Best Scholarship, where he graduated from in 2000, Renato has been teaching students of all levels and ages for the past several years. He has taught at the Boston Arts Academy in Boston, and is also currently teaching at the music store 3D-Guitars & Music in Pembroke, MA.

 

 
 

 

 Jodi Hitzhusen~Piano and Voice                       

M.M.,  Vocal Performance,Music Education Concentration, New England Conservatory of Music.  B.A., Music and Literature, Summa Cum Laude, Evangel University.  Honored as the most outstanding graduate in both fields.  Classically trained soprano, accomplished pianist, commissioned composer, gifted worship leader, inspiring teacher.  Has taught voice and piano lessons ‘since 1999.

As a performer and teacher, Jodi moves easily between different styles.  Operatic performances include Pamina in "The Magic Flute" and premieres for several New England composers.  Musical theatre performances include recording solos for a demo of a new musical, "Queen" in 2010.  In 2007 she began playing the djembe; the same year she started Voci Angelica Trio, using percussion with the trio's arrangements of international folk music.  As an educator, she has performed in outreach programs with the Handel and Haydn Society, Voci Angelica Trio, and on her own as a soloist. 

Jodi is a music director for the Wellesley Village Congregational Church.  In 2008, Jodi was awarded an Emerging Artists Grant from the St. Botolph Foundation to gather music from the Iona Community in Scotland and the Taize Community in France.  As a prolific composer, Jodi writes in classical, pop, and folk styles, including a set of 12 sacred chants.

Performer with many top blues and R&B acts including Phillip Pemberton (every Thursday at the Lincoln, Moody St., Waltham), Diane Blue, Sweet Willie D, Nicole Neson, Mr. Nick, Racky Thomas, Brian Templeton, and many others.  Leader of his own Rhythm and Blues Band and Rock band.  Private lessons with mayy top guitar teachers, including Richie Hart.

Graduate of Berklee College of Music, quitar department scholarship recipient. Music teacher and private instructor for more than six years at Marshfield High School and Matt's Music Centers. Former Director of Marshfield High School Jazz Band.  Performances, recordings, television and radio appearances with Hypersolid, Junkchief and Vykki Vox.  Performances with Bruce Peterson Orchestra, Leon Monty, and many others.  Private studies with Mick Goorick, Rick Peckham, and Jon Wheately.

Nora Maynard~Voice, Piano, & Violin

M.M. in Vocal Performance from Longy School of Music.  B.A. in Philosophy/Neuroscience/Psychology, concentrating in Language, Culture, & Cognition at Washington University in St. Louis, recipient of the Allendorf Scholar of MusicScholarship.  NATS Associate Member.  Nora is also on faculty for voice, violin & piano at Music Maker School in Acton, and The Mozart Academy.  Past roles include “Mabel” in Pirates of Penzance with the MIT Gilbert & Sullivan Players, “Julia” in Act 1 of Pasquale Tassone’s in-progress opera Seven Rabbits on a Pole, and “Beggar Woman” in Sweeney Todd with Triboro Musical Theater.  Attended Atlantic Music Festival 2011 and looks forward to performing “Musetta” in La Boheme at The International Lyric Academy 2013.  She is also a member of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.  Nora is a versatile vocalist, violinist, and folk guitarist, familiar with a broad repertoire that ranges from Bach to Sondheim to Stevie Wonder.

 

 

Shadi Ebrahimi~Voice and Piano 

 

Miss Ebrahimi received both her Undergraduate and Master of music degrees in vocal performance from the Longy School of Music. She also holds music degrees from the Baha’i’ university and Trinity College London.  Ms. Ebrahimi has appeared with Coro Polifonico, Saint Paul Choir, Longitude, and Longy Chamber Choir in New England area and National Baha’i’ Choir in Iran. She has also performed new music by contemporary composers John Howell Morrison, Paul Brust, Eva Kendrick, and Nikan Milani and has premiered new song cycle by composer Gregory Wollenman. On the concert stage, she has appeared as a soloist in the Poulenc’s Gloria, with Coro Polifonico, Handel’s Messiah with Saint Paul Choir, Music on Henry Purcell’s death by Clarke and Haydn’s Nelson Mass with the Longy Chamber Choir. She is a member of the faculty at Riverside Theater works, Concord Conservatory of Music and Allegro Music School. .

Dave Fox~Drums

  

Boston’s Dave Fox is a drum set artist and educator who’s become a staple on the local music scene and a first call sideman to many of Boston’s top Jazz, Funk, Rock and Blues musicians. He also has worked with national artists such as Grammy Award winner Charles Neville (of the Neville Brothers) and Grammy Award winning songwriter, producer and musician Tom “T.H.” Hambridge. Dave is also the creator and leader of the experimental, free group “Adventures In Sound” featuring world class improvisers David Tronzo, Phil Grenadier, Josh Rosen and Bruno Raberg.

 

In addition to performing and recording, Dave stays very active in the field of marching percussion education and is the director of percussion for both the fall and winter marching programs at

Blackstone-Millville Regional High School in Blackstone, MA. Since 2004 has been a member of the Vic Firth Education Team as a Marching Percussion Specialist. He has had the privilege to study with master percussionists such as Walter Tokarczyk, Thom Hannum, and Billy Ward and has been a long time student of Bob Gullotti. He is an endorser of Pearl Drums and Vic Firth Drumsticks exclusively.
